Superstar DJ Martin Garrix has unfortunately been forced to cancel his weekend sets, including a scheduled performance at the Festival International Del Globo in Mexico this Saturday. The DJ shared a heartfelt statement explaining that an unexpected case of appendicitis required emergency surgery, and his medical team has strongly advised him to rest and recover.

In a short statement posted to his socials, Garrix expressed genuine heartbreak over the decision, assuring his fans in Mexico that the choice was not made lightly, noting that some of his favorite performing memories were made in the country. He emphasized the need for rest to avoid post-surgery complications, adding that the event served as a reminder that his body requires time to heal properly.

The DJ promised fans he would be back soon, concluding his message by sending a “big hug” and lots of love to his Mexican supporters. We also wish him a speedy recovery. Read the full statement down below.

This year had been extraordinary for Garrix so far, with a collaboration with Alesso being released, rumours of his long-awaited Ed Sheeran collab fanned by himself on socials, and a fresh B2B Ultra Miami announcement, along with the usual restless touring schedule that a #2 DJ Mag Top DJ does each year.
