Zomboy returns with ‘Doomsday,’ his long-awaited debut on Bassrush Records and the fresh new set piece for Apocalypse: Zombieland 2025. The track arrives after months of global road-testing and lands as one of his heaviest weapons yet. Built for chaotic festival moments, it captures the raw intensity that has defined his music for more than a decade. The release also marks a milestone for Insomniac‘s Bassrush, matching one of dubstep’s most explosive artists with its flagship event.
‘Doomsday’
‘Doomsday’ starts with an eerie ambience and an early radio announcement broadcast that sets the D-Day tone. A raging build forms instantly, pulling listeners toward the edge of existence. The ominous radio voice returns with the phrase “he is alive,” launching the track into a sharp, relentless climb. The tension snaps into a synth fake-out, then spikes again towards a classic Zomboy drop.
The first drop hits with massive bass design, OG dubstep horns, rewinds, and jagged synth phrasing that cuts through the mix. It breaks only long enough to reset the tension. Another build forms, holding pressure without losing momentum, and drops into a second, heavy section that functions as a breakdown drop. After a brief atmospheric breath, the final build teases a possible hardstyle shift. Instead, Zomboy stays true to his roots and detonates a final dubstep drop shaped in the style of the first. The result is a weapon designed with precision for peak-festival energy.
Zomboy
Born in Pendeen, Cornwall, Zomboy rose from rock and metal beginnings before shifting into electronic production. His early demos caught the attention of Never Say Die founder SKisM, which launched a rapid ascent that led to sets at Ministry of Sound, EDC Las Vegas, Red Rocks, and sold-out venues worldwide. His catalog includes classics like ‘Organ Donor,’ ‘Game Time,’ ‘Terror Squad,’ and ‘Like A Bitch,’ which helped define dubstep’s sharp, cinematic edge.
Now steering his Dead Man Walking imprint while maintaining a global touring presence, Zomboy continues to deliver music with precision, intent, and a dark theatricality that fans instantly recognize. His approach favors quality over quantity, often leaving space for production between releases to maintain the craftsmanship behind his sound.
