Two decades after label founder Damian Lazarus first booked him to play in the UK, American electronic icon Claude VonStroke finally lands on Crosstown Rebels with the Noche Clara EP – a release that bridges friendship, history, and the enduring spirit of the global underground.

Built around hazy tones, captivating synth melodies, and sweeping atmospherics, the title track, ‘Noche Clara’, captures the playful minimalism and late-night atmosphere that defined his early work. On the flip, ‘Bam Bam’, a collaboration with beatboxer, producer, DJ, and instrumentalist Honeycomb, layers warped vocals over trippy off-kilter sonics and a tunneling, hypnotic groove – providing a haunting and commanding deep dive into the late-night hours.

I promised Damian I would make a Crosstown Rebels release over ten years ago, and it’s finally happened. He was one of the first people to ever book me in the UK twenty years ago. He’s come to play my festival, remixed one of my biggest tracks, and I’m somewhat obsessed with Lazpod. This release is a throwback and a new beginning at the same time.
