Trance receives yet another great contribution from two usual heroes.
It’s a great day for Trance, today. We’re excited to announce the return of the atomic pair that is Andy Newtz and Tara Greene, on a new record called ‘Set Me Free‘. The track came out today via Amon Vision, and also includes a spectacular remix by label regular Rodrigo Deem. The single follows the acclaimed response Andy and Tara’s latest work got, ‘Angel’, from January.
With ‘Angel’ receiving tons of praise and support ever since its release, and two official remixes which came out last month, the world could only expect something great from them when they joined forces again. The bar was high. And we can confidently say ‘Set Me Free’ truly lived up to the hype.
‘Set Me Free’
The Set Me Free EP contains four tracks: the original ‘Set Me Free’, the Rodrigo Deem remix, and its radio edits. With a total runtime of just over 21 minutes, or 14 minutes if you only listen to the extended versions (which we strongly recommend), you’ll find the best of Uplifting Trance and ??.
There’s little to describe with a track as powerful as the original ‘Angel’. With a break that will have you reaching for tissues, and drops which really double down on the spirit of Uplifting Trance, this one could very well be your soundtrack to the entire weekend. Tara’s voice is not only the icing on the cake, but you can really notice the track is built around her words. Lovely feat that.
The B-side, the Rodrigo Deem remix, doesn’t shy away either. With a powerful foundation that is signature to the Argentinian’s sound, Deem takes the feeling of the original track and brings it to his personal real of Progressive Trance with a late-night club twist. Stabby synths and negative space are the core definition of his remix, one which lets the original ‘Set Me Free’ trace an entirely different road.
