GODTRIPPER’s Psyonik Records’ third transmission descends into the underworld. Anubis EP emerges from the threshold between life and death. Jenna Shaw and Joan Dark, two vital artists in today’s Texas Techno scene, weave their life force together for the two-track Anubis EP.

Anubis EP

Drawing from the ancient Egyptian Judgment of the Dead, ‘Anubis’ evokes the liminal moment when spirits meet the jackal of the afterlife, as the heart is weighed against truth. The title track grounds this myth in ritualistic rhythm: pulsating, primal, and heavy with transcendental tension. Its twin, ‘Kore’, urges surrender through its hypnotic mantra: “release yourself to the unknown”. Both tracks evoke and inspire the transformation of the self. These kinds of dark and twisted sounds challenge listeners to experience different feelings, and release them through movements that go beyond words.

The ever-changing cycle of revival and death gleams through the tracks. Moreover, Psytrance, Hard techno, and Industrial textures collide in a synergetic battle. Electrifying synths twist around acid-driven percussion and organic harmonics, channeling both the mechanical and the mystical. The result is a soundscape that feels like a ceremony for machines that dream of meeting the gods. Lastly, GODTRIPPER seals the ritual with their very own Acid-heavy Kore remix.
