Toronto-born producer, songwriter, and vocalist WHIPPED CREAM has released her newest creation, ‘life‘, on Monstercat, just one of many chapters which have marked one of her busiest years to date. For example, she recently played two sold-out Boiler-Room-like shows in Calgary and Vancouver, she’s doing Dusk Music Festival in Tucson, Arizona, next weekend, and she’s coming from playing Tomorrowland and Shambhala.
This single follows other notable releases this year, including the August collaboration ‘alive’ with vocalist No/Me, and her haunting techno track ‘collide,’ which featured her own vocals. These records, alongside others like ‘never mine’ and ‘u don’t just wanna die,’ confirm her position as one of the most dynamic artists in electronic music.

‘life’ focuses on the pain and eventual hope that follows loss. It’s great to know that music nowadays is still based on heartfelt experiences, deep moments, and the bittersweet nature of life itself. That’s what gets us in the feels more often, and personally, I’d argue that it’s a must to root creations in feeling, when there’s a sea of numbers-oriented tunes out there. Keeps us tethered.
“The song ‘life’ is about losing something with someone you thought could never break, a bond you believed was unshakable”, WHIPPED CREAM shares. “It is heartbreak and hope colliding. Yet another track positioned to be one of her future hits, ‘life’ blends Stutter House and Melodic House elements, opening with lush synths and ethereal vocals performed by WHIPPED CREAM herself. The rhythm hypnotises, and leads into a captivating bassline, bringing together textures of reflection and energy.
